Angel’s Envy starts with a traditional mashbill of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. The 6 year old bourbon is then finished for in ruby port casks for 3-6 months imparting a fruity sweetness and tang to the traditional oak and rye spice. Sugar cookie, vanilla frosting, and ripe red fruits present on the nose. The palate is oak and rye spice driven with just a touch of fruit on the mid-palate and finish. Second sip reveals more fruit and complexity.
